The FIG Congress organized annually by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) this year, organized by the National Association of International Organizations (FIG) on May 6-11, 2018 with the participation of national and international institutions and organizations under the theme “Embracing the Intelligent Earth of the FIG 2018 Collection of the Continents: Increasing the Spatial Occurrence of Communities” .

The congress started with the speech of Orhan Kasap, Chairman of the Chamber of Surveying and Cadastre Engineers of TMMOB, Continued with the speeches of former Chair of the Chamber of Surveying and Cadastre Engineers of TMMOB Ertuğrul Candaş, Vice Chairperson of the FIG and the Congress Director Dr. Orhan Ercan, the chairman of FIG Prof. Dr. Chryssy Potsiou and R.o.T. Undersecretary of Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Prof. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk. Sessions began after the opening speeches of the congress, where representatives of national and international institutions and organizations and a large number of stakeholders from the private sector were present.

In the scope of the FIG 2018 Congress, which Dean of Our Faculty and Head of Real Estate Development and Management Department Prof. Dr. Harun Tanrıvermiş, Vice President of Real Estate Development and Management Department Dr. Yeşim Aliefendioğlu, Architect Salih Demirkaya and our doctoral students from our department; Akın Öztürk, Rodrigue Bazame and Yunus Emre Kapusuz attended, opinions about the future and current status of the real estate sector in the world were shared.
